Saw Mill Park and Trail

The area surrounding Saw Mill Park is considered to be one of Radnor’s first settlements.  In the late 17th century the area was very active with mills fed by Darby Creek.  These included a grist mill and a saw mill constructed in the 1800’s by Levi Lewis.  On Earles Lane you’ll see the miller’s house which was built in 1840.  Today, much of Lewis’ original land is part of Ardrossan Farm (a large tract owned by the Mongomery Scott family early in the late 19th & 20th centuries).  The area that surrounds and makes up Saw Mill Park is considered to be one of Radnor’s first settlements.
